This poem talks about sex and God in a way that really works for me. I posted it on facebook and a friend wrote to me saying that for her the word ‘fuck’ is the opposite of the love that comes with God…I so appreciate her opinion and this is what I replied:
As far as the poem goes, for me she is bringing back the animal wildness into something which religion has attempted to tame. When she uses the word ‘fuck’ it reminds me that love can be wild and passionate and untamed, that God was never meant to be clinical, predictable and white, but God encapsulates everything, all the dirty, uncomfortable, moist, underground and wild places as much as the light and the clean. SO, for me Love and God are both described well by ‘fuck’ in the context she uses it in:).
What do you think, is it possible to be visceral, wild and earthy while still being in communion with your idea of God?
PS: I am not at all religious, I believe in spirit and depth and passion and the divinity inherent within every particle of existence…that is what I call God: The sacred feminine, the sacred masculine, the divine dance of yin-yang, of life and death.
in woodwork we often use a dovetail joint. a male side a female side.Basic.
The church and others love to use outside means to control us wild and passionate humans. To fuck is to love is to join is to fit male into female. no such thing as marriage . This is a complete church control thing. Part of the world of “shoulds”The same shoulds we have to unravel after growing up with parents who tried to control and condition us to their way . Often twisted and ill- informed.

I believe 100% that there is a Creator of the Universe and all that it holds. Religion I’m not so sure of, in fact, I think religion was made by humans to control other humans with the threat of God. The Creator made us and sex is a part of us. There is nothing wrong with sex, If people didn’t make such an issue of it, the world would be a better place. If you haven’t read any Tom Robbins, check out his quotes online. He writes about this as well.
Good posting. Thanks for sharing.
maryfollowsthelamb, I LOVE Tom Robbins, he is one of the prophets of our times as far as I’m concerned. Favourites are ‘Jitterbug Perfume’ and ‘Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates’. What a legend!
Thank you so much for your feedback and for sharing your feelings, I am with you 100%:)
All the best, stay real, stay sharing:)
Absolutely! I am a strong and committed Christian and believe that God is very much into passionate and wild sex (within the context of marriage and commitment). Read Song of songs – its all about sex. (When you mention the “term religion” what are you referring to? Order, organisation, rules? Truth faith comes from the Spirit and from God – there is freedom in it).
Mac, hello and thank you for your response! I’m so glad to hear a Christian acknowledge that God and wildness are very comfortable together:)
When I talk about religion, I mean systems developed by people to control other people, to suck the life out of Spirit and Divinity and turn them into sets of rules to keep us all in line.
Thanks again for commenting, yay to commitment, God, Love and Sex!!!
